I remember going to a seminar by John Lewis on this very subject in 2011 at the Internet Retailing show.
Having order points in store allows them to leverage the product selection on display without having the overhead of stock in every single size, it cements customer loyalty and convenience, it helps staff appreciate the strength of the combined multi channel approach instead of fearing it and this all leads to imrpoved sales and profits.
